Where to Sit at Rajadamnern

Ringside

Close enough to hear the corners between rounds, to hear the impact, and to see how much composure the fighters keep. The ram muay happens directly in front of you.

Best for: anyone who came for the fighting, photographers, and first-timers who want to understand what the sport actually is.

The Middle Tiers

A full view of the ring with some distance, generally seated and calmer. A reasonable compromise if you want to see everything without being in the middle of the noise.

The Upper Tiers

This is where the Thai crowd and the gamblers sit, and where the noise comes from. Odds are shouted and hand-signalled across the tier between rounds, and the reaction to every exchange is immediate and total.

Best for: anyone who came for the atmosphere. A lot of visitors report this as the more memorable half of the evening, and it is usually the cheaper one.

Which to Book

There is no wrong answer, but there is a wrong expectation. If you book the cheapest tier expecting a quiet seated view of the fights, you will be surprised. If you book ringside expecting the roar of the crowd around you, you will be a little removed from it.

Tickets start at $31 and rise by tier. It is worth knowing that Thai spectators often pay differently from visitors at Bangkok’s stadiums — this is long-standing practice at these venues rather than something going wrong with your booking.

Booking ahead settles the tier before you are at the door negotiating, which is the main practical argument for it.
